Your data, your device.
Effective date: 21 April, 2026
Welcome to GetUp: Earn your screentime.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use our mobile application.
1. Overview
We do not maintain user accounts and do not store direct personal identifiers such as name, email address, or phone number. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores your app data — your progress stays on your device.
A limited amount of anonymized technical data is processed by two third-party services (crash diagnostics and product analytics) to operate and improve the app. These are described below.
2. Information Processed
2.1 Personal Information
We do not directly collect personal information.
2.2 Technical and Usage Data
When using the app, limited technical data may be processed, such as:
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Diagnostic or performance-related information
- Crash reports and error diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS version)
- Anonymized product usage events (screens viewed, onboarding progress, feature interactions, wallet and milestone events)
- Anonymous identifiers
This data is used solely to operate and improve the app. Crash reports and usage events are tied to a random anonymous identifier only – we never attach your name, email, IP address, or any other personal identifier. We do not collect screenshots, session recordings, or view-hierarchy data.
2.3 Activity and App Configuration Data
We process activity and fitness data, such as step counts and active calories, to provide the app's core functionality — including unlocking screen time based on movement goals. Health data is read directly from Health Connect (Android) or HealthKit (iOS), is processed on your device, and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
App configuration data — which apps you choose to lock, your daily goal, streaks, milestones, solo challenge progress, and settings — is stored on your device only and is never transmitted.
2.4 Purchase Information
Subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- We do not receive or store payment details
- Transaction data may be processed by third-party providers
3. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to operate the app. These providers may process limited data:
RevenueCat
- Used for subscription management and purchase validation.
- Privacy Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple App Store / Google Play Store
- Used for payments and subscription billing.
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
Sentry
- Used for crash diagnostics and error reporting. Sentry receives anonymized crash reports, stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version. We strip email, username, and IP address from every event before it leaves your device. We do not attach screenshots or view-hierarchy data. Data is processed in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Privacy Policy: sentry.io/privacy
PostHog
- Used for anonymized product usage analytics to understand how features are used and where users drop off in the app. PostHog receives an anonymized event stream keyed by a random identifier. Session replay is disabled and IP-based geolocation is disabled. Data is processed in the European Union.
- Privacy Policy: posthog.com/privacy
These providers may act as independent data controllers or processors depending on the context.
4. Data Storage
Your progress data — step counts, daily goals, streaks, milestones, settings, locked-apps list, solo challenge progress, and an optional first name — is stored on your device only. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores this information.
The only data that leaves your device is the crash and analytics information sent to Sentry and PostHog, keyed to a random anonymous identifier generated locally on first launch. No email, name, IP address, or advertising identifier is attached. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.
Uninstalling the app removes all of your on-device data. Because there is no account or server-side profile, nothing remains on our side after uninstall except the anonymized crash and analytics records described above, which you can request to have deleted.
Requesting deletion of crash and analytics records. Open Settings → About → Delete My Data. The app opens your email client with a pre-filled request containing your random anonymous identifier. Send the email to sebastian@rework.no and we will request deletion from Sentry and PostHog within 30 days of receiving your request. Your anonymous user ID is also visible directly above the Delete My Data button in Settings → About if you want to keep a copy.
5. Legal Basis (EEA / Norway)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing is:
- Contract: to provide subscription-based features
- Legitimate interests: to operate and improve the app
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access information about your data
- Request deletion
- Object to processing
Because your in-app progress data stays on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app.
For records held by our analytics and crash reporting providers (Sentry, PostHog), use Settings → About → Delete My Data inside the app — this opens your email client with a pre-filled message containing your anonymous user ID. Send it to sebastian@rework.no and we will request deletion from these services within 30 days of receiving your request.
7. Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
